saturday morning coffee chat

So I went to clean out my quail pen and several of my quail had little balls of poop stuck to their toes.

Really. It’s a thing. And you have to get them off or they can constrict blood flow to the toes (bye bye toes).

That said, it took me like 20–30 minutes on each bird to soak them off. After the first couple, I’ll own I was pretty tired of the whole thing and ready to move on to something else. But lately God’s been trying to get me to slow down and be present. So I sat more quietly and patiently and had a lovely talk with each of my quail.

They are really sweet quirky little birds and I found that I had compassion for them (who wants to walk around with little marbles of poop stuck on your toes?).

Love is patient.  1 Corinthians 13:4b ESV

I got to thinking about all the other times in life when I’ve been quick to move on. What moment of care for others did I miss?

Just a pretty picture for your enjoyment.

And mine (it’s actually a chocolate creation).
