REFLECTION AND PRACTICE

AN EXTRA WEEK –  (Day 5 of 6)

I’m going to focus on overlooking offense today.

DON’T BE FUSSY – adopt a more positive demeanor.
OVERLOOK OFFENSE – offer a bit of grace.
GENTLE WORDS – fill your conversations with thoughtfulness.

I need to give this a bit more thought. I was going to reread Unoffendable by Brant Hansen this year, but I got distracted by other interests. I’m going to move the book back up my list so it gets read again. I love the encouragement and sensibleness of Hansen’s writing.

UNOFFENDABLE BOOK

How is overlooking offense playing out in your life and marriage? Are some things easier to overlook? Harder?

I find I am more compassionate toward my husband as I examine my heart when I get all worked up about something. I usually have some part in the kerfuffle. A bit of self-examination and a simple conversation can sort things out.

More practice.

A young friend of mine has just started working for a company that sells good quality knives.

I don’t know about y’all, but I always start with inexpensive items until I am sure they are something I want to use. Then when I can, I upgrade to good quality items that will last (good tools are often half the job).

CHOPPING PARSLEY

If you are in that season where you are ready to upgrade some of your kitchen knives, please do contact Vianne at locke170k@gmail.com  She is able to do sales by phone or Zoom.

The company does have gift sets and other cutlery type items. Might find a good gift for the gardener or outdoorsman in your life.
