I’ve been working on an August challenge for about a week now (small and doable goals à la Atomic Habits).
I totally flubbed day two (can you believe it?), but the nice thing is that the goals are small and I can get back on it the next day more easily. And then I got sick, so I just moved in slow motion and got most things done.
One of my goals is to read five pages each day. It’s been a very good goal as five pages is small and easy and, really, I enjoy reading. I usually read way more than my goal, as time allows. I think I’ve done more reading this week than in the last few months.

I’m reading a memoir, a book on osteoporosis, and articles in a couple of homesteading magazines. (What are y’all reading?)
I’ve also been staining fence posts. We’re expanding our family garden a bit and I think we are ready for a more permanent setup now. We fight deer, so we need at least an eight-foot fence. (What’s growing in your garden?)

We do have a five-foot double fence around our community garden (apparently deer don’t like jumping into confined areas and tend to jump high rather than wide). So far we have not had any deer visitors in the garden and the chickens are enjoying the run around the garden.
Enjoy your Saturday!

It’s my birthday so I am driving to meet my brother and SIL for dinner. I’m reading “Repenting of Religion, Turning from Judgment to the Love of God” by Gregory A. Boyd, and I’m growing flower pots and sweet 100 cherry tomatoes.
Well, happy birthday! I’m so glad you were born. :) Thanks for sharing a bit of your life. The book sounds very interesting. I’m growing some Sweet 100s too.
