HAVE A PLAN, WORK THE PLAN (Day 4 of 6)
(Need to start at the beginning? Day 1)
What stalls out your plans?
The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty. Proverbs 21:5 ESV
Sometimes my plans are too big and I have to stop, step back, and take it in smaller steps.
Sometimes I just get distracted. I really do plan on doing something, but then it’s bedtime and … well, I just didn’t get around to it.
Sometimes I lack information so my plans are ill-made. Yay, Google. 🙂
And also, sometimes I just don’t want to do what I’ve planned to do. There are any number of emotional reasons for that. (The best resource I know for that is a book called Moving Past Procrastination by Lori Ferguson.)
If my plans involve others, sometimes they don’t want to go along. And, really, that’s OK, I just have to rethink my plans and do something that rests just on me. Inviting others is great, but you have to be OK with them saying no.
We also have to be OK with modifying or changing plans. It’s an attitude thing. All kinds of things can render our plans in need of change. Smile and go with it. 🙂

Driving home yesterday, we startled an eagle by the side of the road. It flew up fairly close to our car.

It was an amazing sight and a real treat to be that close to one (their beaks really are quite yellow).Â
