CONCEPT FOR THE WEEK

OPEN TO REASON (Day 1 of 6)

Something from the book of James:

But the wisdom from above is … open to reason …  James 3:17  ESV

The Amplified version says “reasonable [and willing to listen].“

I kind of like this. Most people feel loved when they are heard, and (let’s get real) we are not always right. When we pause and listen to others, we help them relax and feel loved. It also helps us reevaluate our opinions and preferences in light of expressing love.

OPEN SIGN

Being open to reason implies a certain amount of gentleness and willingness to open our minds and hearts to others (instead of insisting on our own way).

Let’s take the day and talk to God about listening to others and being open to reason.

I don’t know that I’ve ever shared this with y’all.

I.O.T.L. SIGN

This is a sign that good friends gave us years ago. I keep it on my office shelf to remind me to I.O.T.L. (“Inquire Of The Lord”). I totally need His wisdom and direction.
