REFLECTION AND PRACTICE

AN EXTRA WEEK –  (Day 3 of 6)

These are our three concepts to reflect on and practice this week.

WORK YOUR PLAN – be intentional about lovin’ your spouse.
BE OPEN TO REASON – listen to understand.
DRAW THEM CLOSE – invite your spouse to draw near.

I’m finding more and more that busyness is my relationship killer, because all these concepts take time and energy to live out.

It’s a challenge for me to find a balance between work, play, rest, and time with all my people. Things like reading about minimalism, slow living, and such have helped a bit. I also just re-read Greg McKeown’s book Essentialism. He talks about doing the important stuff and letting go of the unimportant.

I also struggle with pausing. If I’m nose deep in a project, it’s hard to pause to listen to my grandkids when they come barreling through the door.

More prayer, more thought, more experimenting.

How are you doing with your practice? What makes practice time easier for you? What are your personal challenges?

Just something pretty to brighten your day.
