CONCEPT FOR THE WEEK

BE LOYAL (Day 1 of 6)

I ran across a scripture in Proverbs about loyalty, but it was a bit odd and hard to follow. So, I thought about one of the people in the Bible who exemplified loyalty – Ruth.

But Ruth said, “Do not urge me to leave you or to return from following you. For where you go I will go, and where you lodge I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there will I be buried. May the Lord do so to me and more also if anything but death parts me from you.” Ruth 1:16-17 ESV

Ruth was a recent widow who chose to align herself with her widowed mother-in-law rather than go back to her family of origin. It was a pretty amazing choice given the culture of that day and what that might mean for her future.

RUTH IN FIELD

I’d like to take the day and talk to God about loyalty and how it could play out in our marriages and lives.

dictionary definition: giving or showing firm and constant support or allegiance

What is loyalty and what does it look like lived out? Where do you see examples of loyalty in our current culture?

We had our first frost. It barely touched down at 32.5 F, but it was enough to do some damage.

WILTED SQUASH PLANT

The summer squash and a few other plants bit the dust. Time to do some garden clean up.
