GROWING IN STABILITY (Day 1 of 6)
I’m back to reading Proverbs each day.
… with a man of understanding and knowledge, [a land’s] stability will long continue. Proverbs 28:2b ESV
Now, I know this verse is about a ruler bringing stability to the land, but the concept of linking understanding and knowledge with stability caught my eye.

Lately I’ve been seeing the benefit of personal stability and the cost of a lack thereof.
stability: steadfastness; constancy, as of character or purpose
Let’s take the day and talk to God about growing in stability. Where do we get this understanding and knowledge so we can be constant in character?
I’m starting out with 1) listen to God, 2) listen to people who exhibit stability, and 3) learn from the fruit of what I do (is it helping or hurting).
What are your thoughts? Where do you go for insight and knowledge?

I was out weeding in our community garden and I came across these.

I’ve planted onions, carrots, beans, and potatoes in this area and these little green things don’t belong.
Well, turns out they are a bit unusual, so that’s why I didn’t recognize them. Normally the flowers on potato plants just dry up and drop, but this year the weather was such that they actually produced little seed potatoes. Cool, huh?

I have read straight through the Bible a number of times, just the new testament, the old and new side by side while also doing 1-2 Bible studies along side (and book not of the Biblefor fun). For the past year I’ve been doing the Bible straight through along with doing all of Proverbs each month. Now I’m doing the Bible in chronological order and spending 1 month on 2 Proverbs at a time.
Thanks for sharing what is working for you. A Bible reading program can be so helpful.
It’s a good reminder to be stable. My dear husband is grieving the loss of a dear colleague, and it helped me to be able to listen better from having read your posts lately. So thank you.
I’m so glad you were able to be there for your sweetie. So sorry for his loss.
