Paul and I listen to our daily devotional each morning. Today’s blurb included this:
They can’t harvest something they don’t plant. And neither can we … We tend to grow the virtues we’ve planted: cultivating grace makes us more gracious, giving away love makes us more loving, practicing patience helps us become more patient. Bob Goff, Live in Grace, Walk in Love
As a gardener, I totally get this. Planting corn will get you corn (not carrots) and not planting anything will get you, well, nothing.

We have to be intentional about planting the good stuff in our marriage. Practicing makes it easier for us to walk in more loving ways and it blesses and models what we want to see more of in others.
Be the change you wish to see in the world. attributed to Mahatma Gandi
I’d like to have more time with my sweetie, which means I need to make more of my time available to him and talk to him about it. I also need to give more thought to what we could do instead of relying on him to make things happen. I need to plant a few seeds. 🙂

Cool gardening tool: Check out Seedtime to create a gardening calendar.

It has fun bells and whistles, and it has a free version! It’s also something to play with over the winter when you’re anxious for spring to arrive.
