SAT AM COFFEE CHAT

I think I’ve shared this resource with y’all in the past, but it is a good one. James Clear, author of Atomic Habits, writes a weekly newsletter with a few good bits of encouragement and lots of room for thought.

Here is something from his latest newsletter.

A critical quality to develop in life is the willingness to try. You simply must find enough confidence to give it a go. The human mind is fabulous at learning. You will get better at whatever you practice. But before you can develop the skill to succeed, you must find the courage to attempt. James Clear, The 3-2-1 Newsletter

There are days I cry for folks. I hear things like, “I can’t.” or “I’m done.” and then it’s all over because someone is unwilling to try.

When you are done trying, you are done.

Even if your “try” is done poorly, you learn something and you’re beginning to make new and healthier attitudes and behaviors.

If you want change, if you want something better, you need to try.

How do those words make you feel? Do you need to talk to someone about your fears and hurts?

Y’all are going to laugh. Last year’s Christmas tree (yes, it is upside down, there is Tilly to consider) has been up all year.

OUR UPSIDE-DOWN CHRISTMAS TREE

It’s in a corner of the house that has been under construction and on hold over the summer. I’m going to pull everything off, clean it all up, and put it back fresh with a few new ornaments.
