GIVE IT A TRY

HOSPITABLE WELCOME  (Day 3 of 6)
(Need to start at the beginning? Day 1)

Let’s get to it!

Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God. Romans 15:7 ESV

Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. 1 Peter 4:9 ESV

How will you show welcome today? Think especially of your spouse. Something as simple as a smile means they are delighted in.

Does your spouse or your guests have what they need to be comfortable? I have a few crocheted afghans around my living room in case someone feels a bit chilly (thought my grandson says I need a couple of bigger ones, apparently there is the snuggle factor).

COFFEE BAR

I also like the idea of a coffee/tea/hot chocolate bar. Cold winters call for hot drinks and having what you need handy makes hospitality easier. It’s amazing how something as simple as hot chocolate (with mini marshmallows, of course) can make someone feel welcome.

Is there an area of your home that could use a little love? Where do folks settle to talk or play games? Do you have what you need on hand to feed extra at your table? Do you have practical things like bandaids or take home containers (to send home extra with your guests).

What is the Lord showing you about hospitality? What could you do to make your spouse, family, and friends feel more welcome in your home? Think practical.

I finally made time to clean out our greenhouse.

INSIDE MY GREENHOUSE

We’re overwintering a few strawberries and herbs. Those jugs of water help hold in a bit of warmth. The plants may go dormant, but they will survive the winter.
