WHAT'S STOPPING YOU?

HOSPITABLE WELCOME (Day 4 of 6)
(Need to start at the beginning? Day 1)

What stalls out our hospitality gene?

Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God. Romans 15:7 ESV

Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. 1 Peter 4:9 ESV

I’m an introvert. Sometimes I get peopled-out. I just have to be wise about it and give myself the alone time I need to recharge, so I am able to be welcoming when people are around.

Do y’all ever get embarrassed over the state of your home?

MESSY HOUSE

I have one friend who decided to do battle with that idea and stop worrying about what people think. She has a husband, four kids, and a mess of pets. Her home is very lived in, but, you know, when I walk in her home, I know I am welcomed and loved. Her home is beautiful. 🙂

Busyness and exhaustion also make the list for me.

What makes it more difficult for you to open your door and your arms to others?

This is my hubby and son having an Einstein hair moment while they’re putting insulation in the attic. (They’re getting used to my photo sneak attacks and are fairly good-natured about it.)

HUBBY AND SON PUTTING INSULATION IN ATTIC

It’s more of a small loft, but we hope to finish it out as a play/sleepover room for the grandkids.
