NIX THE ENVY & BOASTING (Day 4 of 6)

In your practice yesterday, what did you learn? What made it harder to drop the envy and boasting?
Love does not envy or boast. 1 Corinthians 16:4b ESV
I find it fairly easy to see things I’d like and be a little blue that I don’t have them (like a dishwashing machine). It kind of all bounces back to a certain level of humility and trusting that God has everything in my best interest.
I’m actually trying to do life a little slower and be present in the simple things (like doing the dishes). So when I see my friend’s dishwashing machine now, I thank God that He’s blessed her with one, and I remind myself that I have a home, dishes, a sink, and all the lovely people who eat at my table.
Where do you struggle? What is God speaking to your heart?
I couldn’t find Tilly and in this weather that would be unusual. I called and called, but she didn’t seem to be anywhere, inside or out.
Hmmm. She’s an office shelf kitty, it would seem. (She was just sitting there watching me wander around calling her.)
