SAY/DO NOTHING (Day 3 of 6)
(Need to start at the beginning? Day 1)
Let’s take the day and give silence/inaction some thought and action inaction.
When do we need to pause and not speak up?
I find if I jump into a conversation too quickly, I can run over someone talking. Not only is that rude, but people can need a little extra time to share their heart or explain their thoughts. It’s wisdom to hold my tongue and give them that time.

When do we need to pause and not act?
I have to bite my tongue and sit on my hands sometimes with my grandkids. There are times they need to figure something out on their own or take responsibility for their actions. For me to step in and do something for them could be more hurtful than helpful.
The same can happen with adults. Yes, I want to be helpful, but there are times when others need to step up, or it’s wisdom for me to say no because I have too much on my plate.
What could saying or doing nothing look like when it’s a blessing?

So the forecast was for the low teens overnight.

We actually got down to single digits. I’m so grateful for our warm little home.

This makes me think of masterly inactivity. This is a Charlotte Mason idea where the parent makes the choice to not interfere with what the children are doing. Yes, keep an eye on them, but let them decide what to do and work through their own issues. Let them do their own thing, within reason. I see moms violate this a lot!
I used to homeschool. :) We did the basics that we needed to do legally and then we explored life. I was so much fun.
