CONCEPT FOR THE WEEK

SPOUSES ARE #1  (Day 1 of 6)

Years ago, when I started blogging (almost 24 years now), it was mostly to encourage myself and others to focus our efforts on building our own character as a way of building our marriages.

It all started with God teaching me about generosity (The Generous Wife) and keeping His priority of staying in ministry to my spouse. I’d seen so many folks spend all their time outside their family with sad results.

If I was going to stay focused, I needed a life-long investment in my marriage. I needed to listen to God, grow up, and keep my priorities straight.

WIFE HOLDING UP ONE FINGER

Today, I’m reminded again that my spouse is my number one human relationship. I picked him to create a covenant (for life) relationship with. He gets top billing. My efforts start there and stay there, no matter where else they go in relationship or service to others.

I’d like to spend the week focusing on putting our marriages first this week. Let’s talk to God about His purposes for marriage and how we need to honor His design for this special union.

We still have snow on the ground and bone-chilling temperatures, so we are working on ways of keeping Tilly occupied (self-preservation, you know).

TILLY CLIMBING THE WALLS

She is literally climbing the walls (though that has more to do with Paul and the red dot).
