Our hobbies can are a big part of drifting away from our spouse. If you have a hobby your spouse does not share, that moves you away from them. If the two of you have many different hobbies, that can pull you far apart.
Having hobbies not shared by your husband or wife isn’t wrong. I would say it’s inevitable. The issue is how many unshared hobbies you have, and how hard you pursue those hobbies.
You can choose to be at least peripherally involved in hobbies your spouse has that you would not normally care about. If your wife is all about agility trials for her miniature corgis, then you should understand the rules and go with her to events. This makes it something that draws you together.

Beyond this, you need some shared hobbies that you both enjoy. Finding those can be tricky, but keep trying. Sharing life together is what marriage is all about, and hobbies can be an important part of that.
You need not both be wild about a hobby, as long as you both enjoy it. I know a fellow who does backpack hiking with his wife, spending nights in hammocks. He would never have taken it up on his own, but enjoys doing it, and really enjoys being out with her away from the rest of the world.

Speaking of shared hobbies, Lori put 18 eggs in our incubator. Here are 14 of the chicks, with a 15th working its way out, upper right. Two eggs were not fertilised, and one failed at some point for an unknown reason. All in all, a great hatch rate.

Our two roosters are Barred Rock. The hens for this hatching are a mix of Barred Rock, Copper Maran, and Black Australorp. All of these are good dual-purpose birds.
