What Will You Do Today?

SECOND TRY

SPOUSES ARE #1 –  (Day 5 of 6)
(Need to start at the beginning? Day 1)

Let’s take another day for practice.

CHANGE QUOTE ON NAPKIN

What did you learn over the last few days?

What could you do differently? More of? What makes your spouse feel special?

Practice. Practice. Practice.

I always like to try new things in the garden each year. Last year we grew some sweet dumpling squash and we finally tried one with our meal (with butter and brown sugar).

SWEET DUMPLING SQUASH

Sadly, it wasn’t that great. I think I like the acorn squash better. What squash do y’all like?

Communicate Your Loyalty

SECOND TRY

BE STEADFAST –  (Day 5 of 6)
(Need to start at the beginning? Day 1)

It’s another practice day.

Consider well and watch carefully the path of your feet, and all your ways will be steadfast and sure. Proverbs 4:26 AMP

Consider what messages you want to send to your spouse.

COUPLE STANDING TOGETHER

What can you do or say that will communicate your heart? Your willingness to stand strong in your marriage?

Just a pretty picture from a past winter.

FROST ON THE WINDOW

Frost can take such lovely shapes.

Show Care and Honor

SECOND TRY

STOP THE SCOFFING –  (Day 5 of 6)
(Need to start at the beginning? Day 1)

Let’s take another day of practice.

Drive out the scoffer, and contention will go away; even strife and dishonor will cease. Proverbs 22:10 AMP

What did you learn from the last few days of considering and practicing? How can you put that info to good use?

PRACTICE REMINDER STICKY NOTE

What do you need to watch out for? Where are you most vulnerable? How can you turn scoffing into showing care and honor?

This is the corner of my new standing desk.

MY NEW STANDING DESK

It has fun bells and whistles. It adjusts height and, thankfully, has a lock button (that I will never show the grandkids). I’m lovin’ it.  (I bought it at Costco, for those who are interested.)

More Practice Doing Less

SECOND TRY

SAY/DO NOTHING –  (Day 5 of 6)
(Need to start at the beginning? Day 1)

Another day of practice …

What have you learned so far? How will you add that wisdom to your day of practicing less speaking and doing?

WOMAN REFUSING HELP

I’m still thinking about responding graciously when someone declined my offer of help. It was interesting. I was fairly quick to say, “No problem. Just know I’m available if you change your mind.” Being gracious helped the moment be less awkward and let her know there were no hard feelings.

How can I take that concept into other areas of my life?

Well, let’s get to it … or not. 🙂

Oh, the desperation of a bored kitty. Must. Chase. Something.

BORED TILLY

We had a moment of sunlight and it reflected off of Paul’s watch while he sat at his computer. Go, Tilly, go!

Today’s Opportunities

SECOND TRY

LET’S ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING –  (Day 5 of 6)
(Need to start at the beginning? Day 1)

Let’s get in a little practice.

Little children, let us … love … in deed and in truth. 1 John 3:18 ESV

What have you learned over the last few days? Use that information and today’s opportunities to love on others with action.

WIFE HELPING HUSBAND

A small helping hand can say so much.

Let’s do this! 🙂

I realize this is a terribly boring picture, but it represents something kind of cool.

HOUSEHOLD BATTERIES

This is a stack of four household batteries. They’re a necessary part of the solar-powered system we are working on this year. We are hoping to work up to supplying half our electric needs by solar power and have a saner way of dealing with the power outages when they happen.

Choose Your Words Carefully

SECOND TRY

WORDS, WORDS, WORDS  (Day 5 of 6)
(Need to start at the beginning? Day 1)

Take what you’ve learned over the week and give it another day of practice.

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight,
O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
Psalm 19:14 ESV

What do you need to practice? Who is the hardest to talk to? Easiest? Is there a situation that needs some discussion to fix? Can you do that truthfully, kindly, and graciously?

WOMAN CELEBRATING

Take note of the successes and celebrate!

Snow has its own beauty, but there’s so much of it where I live, I tend to get bored with it. Everything is white, white, white. So I went looking for a picture on my phone with color in it. Nada.

Then I went to my usual photo sites and this one turned up.

WHITE KITTEN

God is too funny.
