REFLECTION (Day 1 of 7)
Over the last three weeks we’ve examined the three parts of James 1:19
Understand this, my beloved brothers and sisters. Let everyone be quick to hear [be a careful, thoughtful listener], slow to speak [a speaker of carefully chosen words and], slow to anger [patient, reflective, forgiving]; James 1:19 AMP
Be quick to hear.
Be slow to speak.
Be slow to anger.
Let’s take this week to just sit and let God talk to us about it all. Is there one of these that really stood out to you in your marriage? Where do you need a bit more work?
I’m still working on not finishing my husband’s sentences and watching out for those small moments of frustration or blaming (that mostly happen in my head). I’m trying to capture each thought and speak truth to myself.
Lord, as we go through this week, please continue your work in us. Help us live this scripture out in our marriages and walk in your wisdom and strength. In Jesus’ name. Amen
