(Need to start at the beginning? Day 1)
So what’s the hang-up?
It can take more time.
Adding another person into the equation usually adds a bit of time. Not necessarily a problem, but just something you need to consider. And where kids are concerned, it can take several times longer to do something (you have to allow for silliness and possibly some age limitations). You need a certain level of patience and lots of time.
It can complicate choices.
When it’s just you, you can do what you want on your timetable. Add in another person and you add in different wishes or ways of doing life. When you invite your sweetie for a walk, they may want to walk in the park instead of around the block a few times. Again, not necessarily a bad thing, just something you need to be aware of.
Introvert Alert: yeah, we do need to be alone sometimes
It’s OK to do things alone. We introverts need that solitude. However, we also need to understand the needs of others and learn the skill of invitation. Start small and practice. 🙂
