What keeps you from developing and exercising your important habits and routines? What makes it hard to say yes to exercise and no to that extra brownie?

One of the biggest problems I have is when something seems too big to do. The situation is too involved and sooner or later, I’ll stall because I’m overwhelmed or I get behind.

I want to stay current on my bookkeeping. It’s something I need to be excellent about. I keep the actual accounts well, but I struggle keeping my housing receipts scanned and filed.

I spent some time thinking about why this might be. It’s a process that takes several steps and feels overwhelming. So I’m breaking it down. The most important part is entering the information into my financial program. So that’s my first baby step. All receipts go in an envelope for now and how I handle them will be my next project after I feel like step number one is habit. (I had a goal to go mostly paperless, but I’ve bitten off more than I can chew.) Breathe. Baby steps. Breathe.

I’m also trying to improve my health. I have way too many ideas and I can’t do them all at once, so I’m being intentional about my eating window again (intermittent fasting) and I start my day with 20 minutes of various forms of exercise (sometimes more because when you’re dancing to good music, you just have to keep dancing.) 🙂
